THE BOY CAN RIDE!

Look – No more training wheels!!!

My 4-year-old just learned how to ride bike minus training wheels.  He was so proud when he got going he almost fell because he was looking back to make sure I saw him.  He was so proud of himself and his mom was double proud.   It helped tons to have him learn on grass.  He did not wobble around so much and definitely felt more stable.  NOW he is riding around like a maniac on our street.  AND he always wears a helmet – except when we are at the farm.

Here some bicycling quotes that I think are pretty cool.

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.”  Albert Einstein

“Nothing compares to the simple pleasure of a bike ride.”  John F. Kennedy

“The hardest part of raising a child is teaching them to ride bicycles. A shaky child on a bicycle for the first time needs both support and freedom. The realization that this is what the child will always need can hit hard.”  Sloan Wilson

“I relax by taking my bicycle apart and putting it back together again.”  Lance Armstrong

  1. Okay, could the kid look any more proud? It didn’t hurt that Grandma put the playing cards in the spokes so it sounded like “a motorcycle” or that Grandpa was ALWAYS
    watching him!!
