THE LAKERS, ME, & FLAT STANLEY
We got to go to a really cool event last Tuesday. It was called 2012 All-Access Lakers put on by a group named LASEC. It was a blast! The highlight for me was meeting one of my favorite all-time players, A.C. Green. I still remember him playing with Magic with his white socks pulled up to his knees. We also got to go in the locker room and see how HUGE the boys’ shoes really are! No petites in there. We also got to shoot baskets on the court. First shot for me… AIRBALL.
I also have my niece’s Flat Stanley from Minnesota. It was fun taking him to this event. All the players were really cool with Mr. Stanley. AND the Lakers Girls’ were all over him!!
Good ol’ Stanley with A.C.,Josh McRoberts, Jason Kapono, Luke Walton, Kathy Schloessman (Lasec President), Derek Fisher, and Mike Brown.
It was fun listening to all these guys talk. My favorite current player is Derek Fisher. So it was really cool that he was there. He sounded very smart and was very well-spoken. The head coach, Mike Brown, was very funny and seemed very well liked by the team. Very fun time for me AND Stanley!!
VALENTINE’S HEARTS
Just made a book for my neighbor girl. She is 4 and knows EXACTLY what she wants! I asked her what faces she would like included in her book (you get 6 faces). She wanted Justin Bieber, my daughter’s guinea pig, Heat Miser, herself, Mickey and Minnie, and then a unicorn – rainbow included. PHEW… and we found all those pictures. My absolute favorite of hers is the Heat Miser!
This was the first book that I have made where I did not just use faces. She wanted the entire picture of Mickey and Minnie and the whole picture with the unicorn because it had that beautiful rainbow. It still worked great!!!

MY FAMILY’S GOT TALENT
Had to share this little clip of my very talented sister and my niece. I bet that is what all of you were doing too on Christmas Eve!
I had someone write in the other day and say my blog was good but needed some educational factor in it. He was not learning anything new. So… Mr. I NEED TO LEARN ALL THE TIME, enjoy.
CHRISTMAS FAVORITES
I remember seeing this on tv as a kid and everytime I see it – it always makes me feel happy. And yes, it sounded just as cheesy as I typed it too! But really, if you listen to this and don’t feel a little more peaceful – you might have a few anger issues.
Here are some of my favorite things about Christmas
I love all the classic Christmas stories but my favorites are Rudolf and Heat Miser. Just looking at the Heat Miser cracks me up. At one time or another, my kids have all had hair like him.
I am not big on sweets. I would choose a Mountain Dew over a cookie anyday. BUT for some reason my favorite Christmas treat is when you take Honeycombs, melted almond bark and some peanuts and mix it into a blob . I don’t even know if it has a name but it’s my favorite. We always have to make a gingerbread house and drink hot cider too.
My Aunt Lucy’s popcorn balls are a must!!! I think she adds extra butter and marshmallow..
The present that I will always remember getting was the Little People Treehouse. I loved that thing and I can remember Santa coming in to my Aunt and Uncle’s house and handing me that present. It is funny how I can distinctly remember everything about that and I was probably 4 or 5.
I wonder what my kids will always remember about Christmas when they grow up.
CHRISTMAS LIGHTS
The kids and I just got done putting up the Christmas lights on our house. Phew – lots of work but I think it looks pretty decent.
How do your lights look?
I USED TO THINK…
My kids and I had a funny conversation the other day. They were telling me what they used to think when they were sooooo little! Keep in mind they are 12, 10, 8, and 4. Here are a couple of the funny ones.
When I was little, I used to think…
that the curvy bike racks were actually SNAKE CAGES!

When I was little, I used to think…
that Disneyland was on the top of Saddleback Mountain.

When I was little, I used to think…
that there was a person named Busy because mom would get on the phone and then say “It’s Busy.”

Here is the picture that I put on the homepage of my Find Me Book website. Looks cute and adorable BUT it took a few trillion takes. Thank goodness for digital cameras!

HALLOWEEN FUN
We had a blast this Halloween. Just wanted to share a few pictures of our fun. Of course the above picture is the very BEST part of Halloween – dumping your candy and sorting through it all.

The good old Mummy Wrap. All you need is one roll of toilet paper per mummy.
Bobbing for Donuts was a big hit! Very easy to set up. Just string up some donuts and let the kids eat the donut but they can NOT use their hands. Powered donuts are the best and messiest!
AND I almost forgot about the carving pumpkins part!! 3 out of the 4 kids love to roast the pumpkin seeds. Just put a little olive oil and salt on the clean pumpkin seeds and then bake for 10 minutes at 350. Really good!
HOT IN CLEVELAND
I got to attend a live taping of the TV Land show HOT IN CLEVELAND last week. I had never seen the show but I knew all the actors (Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves, Wendie Malick, Betty White) in the show . AND yes, I was really excited to see Betty White.
My cousin was the one that hooked us up with the tickets-and let me just say – we were HOOKED UP! She knows the audience director, Mike Burger. He used to host the talk show Mike and Maddy in the 90′s and was the host of Password. Mike’s job is to take care of the audience. To make us laugh while we waited for each take. He succeeded – BIG TIME. We were there around 4 hours and my sides and cheeks hurt from laughing.
Mike got the audience laughing and then we would have to be quiet for a take and when something funny happened, we would laugh even harder because we were so giggly from Mike. He is really quick with a joke, comment, and can completely roll with a very unpredictable audience. Talented guy.
We did get the VIP treatment. My aunt, cousin, and I did not have to wait in line at all, we had seats saved for us, and as soon as we sat down, Mike told us to come down and check out the set. The set is amazing. Just like a real house-their kitchen even works! So many microphones and lights hidden everywhere. We got to go behind the set and I wish I would have thought to take a picture of their Craft Service- HUGE!
The show is super funny. What was really cool about being there – besides just being there – was seeing how all the actors like being together. Mike also agreed saying that there are no “egos” on the set. All the actors at one point of the night, came and talked and met the audience. Very nice, funny, and beautiful people. Even got to see Sean Hayes (played the friend on Will and Grace) and John Mahoney (the dad on Frasier).
Betty White was great AND super funny. She even blew a couple of lines on purpose to get more laughs. One time she messed up a line and then gave herself a little slap on the face and said “C’mon Betty.” She is totally cute and always smiling. Plus, she was at the set from 10a.m. to 9:30p.m the day we were there. That is a long day for any 89 year- young gal!
Season 3 of Hot In Cleveland premieres November 30th on TV Land.
